Milk Bartender

Posted June 29, 2019

We seek an enthusiastic sales person to sell our chocolate products and evangelize Bellflower Chocolate Company via The Chocolate Bike™, our mobile milk bar. Our unique sales platform is equipped to sell not just our bars and nibs, but our cold, delicious single-origin chocolate milk™. The ideal Chocolate Milk Bartender will combine a passion for people with an appreciation for bikes; good, simple food; and storytelling.

 Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Preparation, set up, cleaning and break down of The Chocolate Bike™ for weekly sales opportunities including the Queen Anne Farmers Market, street vending in Fremont and other events (riding the bike to the sales location is optional, but not required for this position).

  • Using your charm and exceptional interpersonal skills to engage customers through sharing the Bellflower story via product sampling and sales.

  • Expanding our customer base and increasing sales via your optimistic, enthusiastic evangelism of Bellflower Chocolate Company.

This is a part-time job, 16-20 hours per week initially in Seattle. While we understand that life is unpredictable, we are prioritizing candidates who are willing to commit to this role for at least six months and who may be interested in working with Bellflower longer term.

About You

You are an optimistic, enthusiastic food lover, passionate about simple, honest, sustainable food, where it originates and how its production affects society. You are a great collaborator, seeking and open to others opinions and constructive feedback. You are also comfortable with ambiguity: you don’t wait to be told what needs to be done: you see a problem, you solve it. You are curious, fun, and easy to get along with.  Bonus points if you bring great playlists to the kitchen speakers!

Chocolate making experience and college degrees not required, but those with food industry experience and open, curious minds preferred. A Washington State Food Worker Card is required for this position.

Wednesdays (prep day at our commercial kitchen on Queen Anne), Thursdays and Saturdays (bike sale days).

The hourly wage for this position is $15.00. Bellflower Chocolate Company is a small firm and is not currently in a position to offer a benefits package.
